“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” –Mark Twain
Hello! Salut! ¡Hola! Ciao! こんにちは。
Welcome to my blog. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
Who am I?
My name is Chiara Grandola and I’m a twenty-something Italian girl. I’m a runaway daydreamer. I’m a free spirit. I believe in lifelong learning. I consider myself an open minded person. When I’m passionate about something, I put my whole heart and soul into it. I’m stubborn and I love vintage stuff. Yeah, all kinds of it.
I was born in the countryside of Italy but I live in Rome at the moment. It’s a beautiful city and I absolutely love it! Different languages and cultures have always been a passion of mine and I have been fascinated by them since I was a little girl.
What I want to accomplish
My main goal is to become fluent in different languages. English, French, Spanish and Japanese are the ones I’m mostly focused on. I want to be able to express my feelings, my emotions, my thoughts, my needs as if they were my native tongue. Pretty ambitious, isn’t it?
Why I created this blog
I mainly created this blog to keep myself motivated and to keep track of my progress and my mistakes.
I took the idea from the “Studentessa Matta” blog, written almost exclusively in Italian by Melissa Muldoon, an American woman. She’s great and she self-taught Italian to an advanced level! I’ll share my favorite, tried and true, language learning tips and tricks along with some new discoveries.
Apart from languages, I love any form of art and entertainment (photography, cinema, motion graphic, fashion, painting, cartooning, etc).
I’m a huge music fan. I listen to music every day and I never get tired of it. My favourite kind is pop and electronic-pop, but I have a soft spot for Rnb and Hip Hop. I love dancing too. I’ve always felt connected with American and British culture. I love American traditions, American TV series, American music, American artists and so on.
Well, enough about me. Now it’s your turn to speak your mind. Have an idea, a tip or just want to get in touch? Contact me!
