Buon San Valentino! Valentine’s day in the Italian language
It’s Valentine’s day and there’s no better language than Italian to express love, passion, and romance. It doesn't matter who you are, you will steal the heart of anybody by whispering some Italian paroline dolci (sweet nothings) in their ear. From the ever-charming “ti amo” (I love you) to the luscious “amore mio” (my love), I dare you not to succumb to the musicality of this language. Have you picked the right language?
Once I read in a blog the following statement: “Pick the culture, not the language”. It stuck in my head immediately because the reason I started learning English in the first place is due to the American and British culture. I have always been drowned in everything American related. From the music, to the movies, to the books and so on. English has always been and will always be a huge part of my life because I love everything about English-speaking countries! That’s why today’s question is: “Can you learn a language if you don’t like its culture?” Think about it. Language and culture are two sides of the same coin. You can’t separate them.
